Smith&Nephew

Are devices that by applying negative pressure to the wound accelerate their healing. Depending on the localization, size and type of the wound, a doctor determines:
– the type of Smith&Nephew mantle that will be applied (gauze or polyerethane foam)
– vacuum intensity
– the method of the device operation (continuous or interminable)
– filler changing interval

By the continuous method of operation, the device provides the therapy with the vacuum intensity defined in advance without stopping until it is turned off.

By the interminable method of operation, the device provides the therapy with the vacuum intensity defined in advance lasting for 5 minutes, after which the pause lasts for 2 minutes.

The recommended therapy pressure scope is from -40 to -120 mmHg.

Indications: decubital ulcers, diabetic ulcers, venuos ulcers, postoperative wounds, fistula, surgical wound dehiscence, traumatic wounds, sternal wounds, abdominal compartment syndrome, abdominal wall defects, dermal grafts.
